15th May – New Dates, Star Search and recording the new album!
Turns out I’m awful at updating this section of my website (sorry!). Since my last update I spent 3 days solidly practicing and working out new drum parts for ‘Thirteen Months’, tweaking the demo tracks and gearing up to record drums (hopefully booking a studio for the 1st week of June).
Rob and I have also been practicing our acoustic set a lot with a whole host of gigs coming up varying in lengths from 2 song sets to 2 hour sets (we’re learning a LOT of covers). We also played a warm up house show in my living room which went pretty well.

As I record the new album I’m hoping to make some Vlogs too and YouTube them!
1st April – Recording New Demos (No Joke!)
I’ve spent the last couple of days recording some rough guitar and vocal parts to a click track for 15 new songs. I’m going to be practicing and working out drum parts for them next weekend with the view of booking a studio in a few weeks to record the drums for the new album which is going to be called ‘Thirteen Months’. I doubt that all 15 songs will make it to the album but even with these rough demos I’m incredibly excited about these new songs!

Firstly apologies that this music blog hasn’t been updated much…most updates have been via Facebook and Twitter.

If you’ve heard the last album then please have a listen to the new version. There’s 2 new songs, slightly less songs but it sounds 100 times better…I should have a review from Ben to post in the next couple of weeks too!

On Saturday Rob and I played a cover of The Offspring’s ‘The Kid’s Aren’t Alright’ as part of Beverley Minster’s youth fundraiser ‘Minster’s Got Talent’. Sadly I don’t have a video but here are a couple of photos that were took during the night.

I’m playing tonight at Beverley Minster’s ‘Minster’s Got Talent’ which is on from 7:30pm in Beverley. Tickets cost £5 and there’s a whole host of acts playing all raising money for Beverley Minster’s Youth Work. Come along!
I’ve also spent parts of this week writing press releases which I need to get sent out this week…Escape this Town…released 19th March 2012.

For a variety of reasons including making some final tweaks, moving house and wanting to make sure there’s time for the album to be live at the point of release on iTunes and Spotify I’ve moved the release of ‘Escape this Town’ back to the 19th March. Having originally aimed for late 2011 I think it’s totally right that the album release waits in order for it to be the best possible release I could produce. 19th March…Escape this Town!
