update

So today which could have been a day of portfolio and work isn’t…quite simply because I can’t be bothered! However I’ve been programming more of the new Stand For Christ which is beginning to take shape.

Also apologies for amount of youtube videos I’ve linked this week, but they’re good!

Portfolio Update…

For anyone remotely interested I have now donw 16 out of 36 sections for my portfolio…which doesn’t sound a lot but it means I’m over a third there…I’m taking it for a trip to London tomorrow to check it out with my tutor so hopefully that’ll be positive.

In other news….the house is out of milk so I’m drinking black coffee…my itunes A to Z has me listening to the rockin’ MxPx and I wrote a song today/yesterday called ‘Something So Unbreakable’

Fame at last?

Mark and Angela at church tonight told me that Stand For Christ (my other website) was featured in May’s Youth Work magazine, so I grabbed it from my office, had a rummage and sure enough…it is!

There are some very positive comments on my site published in a couple of paragraphs which is very nice…I do however feel slightly guilty that so much of the site doesn’t function at the moment…however I’m working on a complete re-build.

If you’re interested in stand for christ head to www.standforchrist.co.uk although I advise that you wait until I finish the new design first…updates posted here!

God On Mute – Pete Greig

Anyone around me the last few weeks has probably heard me say something about the book ‘God On Mute’. On the recommendation of Dan who was on team with me at Spring Harvest. (Who also plays for Short Fall – www.myspace.com/shortfallofficial) I purchased it.

Since buying it I’ve spent the last few weeks reading it and it truly is an amazing book.

The book aims to address the issue of unanswered prayer, not in advanced terms but in easy-to-understand terms and it does that. This is one of the best books I’ve read and Greig seems to cover every thing you could think of when it comes to unanswered prayer, not in a way that says he has all the answers but in a helpful way which helps you think about things.

It’s authenticity is added to buy his wive’s struggles with brain tumours and epilepsy and how that has challenged his face. This is an honest book on answered prayer that I think everyone should read!

Woah…

Regular readers will note a lack in recent posts, it’s not that I’m not thinking but that I’m over thinking, this week has been manic, I’ve been writing essays, writing sermons, planning sermons, having worship band practices, going to uni 2 days, having house groups, going to deacon’s meetings and travelling to Sheffield for 24 hours…all in all it’s been manic and it’s still manic…tomorrow I’m leading the service at church and preaching, most of which is now planned other than a video which I need to make this afternoon.

Monday night at youth group we’re having a murder mystery night so I’m trying to plan that too….

So here’s a couple of brief blog thoughts…

1 – I was amuse to see Boris Johnson win as mayor of London and I am intrigued to see how things will pan out. I also don’t think old brown has a chance in the next elections…which makes me happy!

2 – I finished ‘God on mute’ and have several people I want to lend it to/want to borrow, I shall make some more comments on Greig’s book tomorrow

3 – Hayfever season is here and I don’t like it

More blogging soon…

London Elections Today

As you may or may not know today is the day of Elections everywhere and seeing as I’ve been in London every wednesday and thursday for the last couple of years I thought I’d make a quick comment on Boris Johnson (left)…he is currently up against ken Livingstone in the battle for mayor of London.

Now I don’t think Boris would do a remotely decent job…I’m not swung as to either Labour or Conservative…however seeing that I don’t live in London, intend to or really want to spend a extended peroid of time in London regually I think it would be funny for Boris to have a go as mayor….

Useless polition in the name of comedy?…why not?

(for the serious people who read this I am being somewhat ‘tongue-in-cheek’ as they say)
